The OrganizationThe Floral Art Society of Victoria is a not-for-profit organization, active in the State of Victoria (Australia). Formed in 1978, the Society is dedicated to promote flower arranging and design as an art form in a non-competitive environment.
The Society consists of more than 200 individual members and affiliated Floral Art Clubs who participate in floral events in Metropolitan Melbourne and Country Victoria.
Objects of the Floral Art Society of Victoria
- To promote, maintain and foster the interest of Floral Art in Victoria.
- To develop a bond of friendship between all Floral Artists.
- To raise the status of Floral Art amongst the Arts.

ManagementA management committee comprising seven officers and five to ten additional committee members administers the affairs of the Society. This committee organizes regular demonstrations, workshops and displays. Major events conducted include an annual luncheon with presentations by leading floral designers, live-in seminars, displays at prominent public events such as the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, Flower Festivals at Cathedrals and elsewhere on invitation.
Meetings
The Society's Annual General Meeting is held in August, or within three months following the end of the financial year, which is June 30th. General Meetings may be convened at any time by the Committee but are usually only called to conduct special business.
Membership
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in flower arranging in its many facets. The membership subscription fee is $25, renewable annually from July 1st. For more information or to join as a member, contact our Membership Secretary.
Newsletter
The quarterly newsletter keeps members informed of all activities planned by the Society, and also provides information about other floral events of interest. Relevant articles, reviews and photos make up the content of the sixteen-page newsletter which is mailed to each member's postal address.
